Pipeline Right of Way
Pipeline right of ways are areas of land that are sectioned off for the use of building, maintaining, and operating pipeline systems. Pipelines (gas, water, or oil) are extremely valuable systems that can’t afford to be messed with as one issue can impact an entire community. Our team of professionals at Duraroot has worked on hundreds of miles of right of way land, both reclaiming land and providing soil delineation for contractors. Pipeline right of way delineation requires in-depth knowledge of the industry and attention to detail, both of which we have in spades.
Top-Notch Right of Way Delineation
Installing pipeline right of ways often mixes topsoil with the layer of soil beneath it, potentially causing issues in land stability. This is simply because many contractors who install pipelines don’t pay much attention to the differing properties of soil. At Duraroot, we have the ability to test the soil in specific areas around the right of way to determine the health of the soil it’s embedded in. Doing this helps us section off the contaminated zones from the healthy zones and provides us with a good sense of where there are noticeable changes in soil properties.
Working on Right of Way Territories with Caution
When dealing with delicate zones like a pipeline right of way, one false move can be catastrophic for an entire city. We’ve worked in enough right of way territories to know this. In a previous project we worked on, a 1,172 mile pipeline was constructed that stretched from North Dakota to Illinois. Prior to construction, pipeline right of way delineation was required to reduce the impacts of the installation. Our comprehensive topsoil delineation work was meant to determine topsoil depths prior to construction, which ultimately helped us with post-construction reclamation.
